River & The Snap is the new indie-pop creation of Melbourne-based musician, River Cordes-Holland. The debut single of River & The Snap, Ride It, is now available on Itunes, Spotify, Soundcloud, Triple J Unearthed other major digital platforms through Fundalicious Records. The official music video played on ABC Rage and directed by Hamish Bassett, is also available on Youtube.

The debut single, 'Ride It', (as well as the material for the upcoming EP), was written in GarageBand on River's iPad. He decided to deliberately move away from writing songs on the guitar and a traditional studio so he could find a new musical direction and focus on the essence of his song-writing craft. The portability of the iPad means that River writes music wherever he is, whether at home in Fitzroy, at a café on Brunswick Street or waiting in an airport lounge.

River works with friend and local Melbourne producer, engineer and musician, Yen Nguyen (10 Kinds of Handsome) to help shape his Ipad creations into radio-ready songs. Yen has produced and recorded a growing number of up and coming Melbourne artists (and is a talented songwriter and musician in his own right, releasing Mechanical Pterodactyl – Watercolours in 2012).

A "bass music" remix of the track is due for release in late January by Frankie (former Bumblebeez member, and artist behind Little Boy from the Woods). River & The Snap's debut EP will follow in mid-2014, followed by a full-album release and launch in late 2014.
